Understanding Risk Categories
Low Risk & Synergy

These substances tend to enhance each other’s effects in generally predictable ways. Standard harm reduction practices apply, but the combination does not introduce novel dangers beyond those of each substance alone.

Low Risk

No significant interaction expected at typical doses. The combination is not known to produce dangerous effects, though individual variation always applies.

Low Risk & Decrease

One substance reduces or blocks the effects of the other. Not typically dangerous, but may result in a diminished or unpredictable experience.

Caution

The combination carries moderate risk or produces unpredictable interactions. Additional research, dose reduction, and careful monitoring are advisable.

Unsafe

The combination carries significant risk. Serious adverse effects — cardiovascular strain, extreme psychological distress, serotonin toxicity, or respiratory depression — are possible.

Dangerous

The combination carries life-threatening risk. Serotonin syndrome, seizures, cardiac events, or respiratory failure are documented possibilities. Do not combine.
